If you haven’t, then this is your lucky day – especially if you’re a system admin of data centers and/or corporate facilities, an enterprise network engineer or manager, MSP or ISP. In short, Opengear is an out-of-band (OOB) management solutions provider, enabling companies to improve efficiencies while maximizing business continuity. The company offers first-rate solutions that help you best monitor your physical environment, as well as devices by automatically detecting and resolving issues to keep everything up to speed – all while leveraging the latest cellular technologies to provide access even when the network is down.
I was able to speak with Todd Rychecky (News - Alert), VP Sales North & South America, who explained to me in more detail the core propositions of the company’s brand, and ultimately, what sets it apart from other contenders in the space.
“Opengear (News - Alert) enables companies to have five nines levels of service across their entire computing and communications infrastructure,” he explains. “Our solutions act as ‘virtual remote hands’ to allow access and management of remote devices to keep the business up and running securely from anywhere, even if the network is down. Our mission is simple: to offer the most feature rich, cost-effective, flexible solutions for secure remote infrastructure management.”
Recently, the company unveiled Opengear Lighthouse, its newest central management system (CMS) product that enables network engineers and system administrators to centrally manage their infrastructure management and console server appliances, including attached IT networking gear in the data center or remote sites, TMCnet reported last month when the news broke.
Also last month, Opengear’s IM4200 series appliance was selected by the system administrators of COSMOS@DiRAC, the U.K. National Cosmology Supercomputer, to provide secure remote management and reliable OOB access to a variety of critical infrastructure, TMCnet also reported.
