January 17, 2013HP Delivers Out of Band Management Service to ITX Enterprises
HP is now offering out of band management service to ITX Enterprises, a virtual desktop service provider for behavioral health professionals, through a combination of HP's server and storage solutions.
The company has selected HP Converged Infrastructure to host its private cloud and expand service delivery nationally. The deployment has brought significant savings to the company.
As part of this deployment, ITX Enterprises integrated an HP BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure with five HP ProLiant BL460c G7 server blades hosting virtual machines running VMware vSphere 5 and a four-node HP StoreVirtual Storage system. Following this deployment the company is able to improve application performance and boost business responsiveness.
According to company officials, the thin provisioning and storage clustering provided by HP StoreVirtual Storage system helped ITX avoid the purchase of 15 extra terabytes of direct attached storage (DAS) or network attached storage (NAS).
Further, ITX also reduced the need of physical servers by 89 percent, in addition to experiencing an $18,000 annual reduction in power consumption with the HP BladeSystem environment.
The new infrastructure for ITX combines HP's server and storage solutions which streamline maintenance while easing troubleshooting and support.
ITX selected HP after evaluating competitive offerings from Cisco, Dell (News

By deploying HP’s solution, ITX Enterprises gained a comprehensive solution from a single vendor that helps it reduce costs while simplifying system management and accelerating service delivery.
"When we began discussions on offering the Pro-Filer system across the United States as a hosted solution, our infrastructure technology was outdated and just couldn't support the data-intensive service levels the system required," said Todd Christensen, IT manager, ITX Enterprises, in a statement.
"After extensive research, we selected HP because their Converged Infrastructure delivered a comprehensive, integrated solution with the reliability and scalability we needed to support current as well as future business needs," Christensen added.
To enable faster deployment, ITX Enterprises utilized HP Factory Express to pre-assemble, pre-test and pre-configure the solution to its specifications. The data center setup was complete in one hour, compared to weeks for comparable solutions -- a 99-percent reduction in system time to value.
