Opengear (News - Alert) has announced that its IM4200 & ACM5000 cellular out-of-band management solutions have been selected by Layer42 Networks. With this, Layer42 Networks will look to enable its IT staff to connect to distributed remote locations without a primary network connection.
For data centers, colocation facilities and managed service providers, the Opengear IM4200 infrastructure management appliance provides improved levels of connectivity, flexibility and security. The IM4200 offers the required tools to bring together management of data center infrastructure, both in-band and out-of-band, and is created for important business infrastructure management.
Created specifically to provide safe remote monitoring and management for enterprise remote locations, Opengear ACM5000 Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) gateways are a standalone network hardware agent. For offline logs and running configuration files, the ACM5000 offers serial console-port connectivity, environmental monitoring, power management and monitoring and remote site storage.
Layer42 Networks had various requirements that needed to be met, when the company was analyzing solutions to make their data centers run more efficiently.
Opengear allows Layer42 Networks to administer its distributed IT infrastructure equipment.
“Carrier-class data center customers expect carrier-class business continuity solutions to meet the demanding needs of their clients," said Todd Rychecky (News - Alert), vice president of sales, Opengear. "By deploying our cellular out-of-band products, Layer42 Networks leverages the flexibility of our platform to gain a competitive edge in the business of high availability networks.”
Recently, the company announced that its console servers provide safe access to the Cisco serial console port both in band and out of band. Making its connectivity solutions ideal for both data center and remote branch office use, this is done with the help of built-in modem, wireless 3G or redundant path.
Along with that, Opengear console servers are equipped with a number of unique benefits for improved convenience and network stability.
